چکیده

A CMOS low-power four-quadrant multiplier for Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) systems using FM-UWB and Impulse Radio (IR) is presented. A set of transconductors, rather than the traditional Gilbert cell, is employed. The configuration is simple and area saving. The simulated result shows: An average gain of 22.5 dBV−1 and 20.8 dBV−1 in the bandwidth of 700 MHz at 1.2 GHz and 4 GHz center frequencies, respectively, 1.8 mA total current with 2.5 V power supply, and a linear range of ±900 mV. The layout area of the proposed multiplier is approximately 200μm × 300 μm. The process is the UMC 0.25 μm standard CMOS process.

A Broadband Low Power CMOS LNA for 3.1–10.6 GHz UWB Receivers

A new approach for designing an ultra wideband (UWB) CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) is presented. The aim of this design is to achieve a low noise figure, reasonable power gain and low power consumption in 3.1-10.6 GHz. Also, the figure of merit (FOM) is significantly improved at 180nm technology compared to the other state-of-the-art designs. Improved π-network and T-network are used to obt...

Design and implementation of ultra-wide-band CMOS LC ilter LNA 215 Design and implementation of ultra-wide-band CMOS LC ilter LNA

Demand for low cost and high data-rate wireless communication systems is increasing. Since the FCC has authorized communication in the 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz frequency band, several technologies have been developed to satisfy the communication market. Typically, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique appears to be good candidate for high speed data communication whereas carrie...

Providing an UWB-IR BAN wireless communications network and its application to design a low power transceiver in CMOS technology

Ultra Wide-Band (UWB) communication techniques have received increasing attention since United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a “First Report and Order” [1] in 2002. Unfortunately the regulations that appeared a few years latter didn't have the same level of commitment and had much tighter constraints. The FCC part. 15 power spectral density limitation is depicted in Fig...

A 2-16 GHz CMOS Current Reuse Cascaded Ultra- wideband Low Noise Amplifier

This paper presents the design of a 2-16 GHz ultra wide band low noise amplifier (UWB LNA). The proposed LNA has a gain of 11.5 ± 0.85 dB with NF less than 2.82 dB. Good input and output impedance matching, good isolation and linearity are achieved over the operating frequency band. The proposed UWB LNA consumes 18.14 mW of power from 1.8V supply. This UWB LNA is designed and simulated in 0.18 ...

Resistive Feedback Influence on Ring Oscillator Performance for IR-UWB Pulse Generator in 0.13 m CMOS technology

A CMOS standard three-stage ring oscillator is examined in UMC 0.13 m technologies. As the ring oscillator is a part of IR-UWB (Impulse Radio Ultra Wide Band) pulse generator, its oscillating frequency determines the central frequency of the pulse spectrum and has significant effect on spectrum fitting within UWB FCC mask. The influence of inverter feedback resistors on the ring oscillator freq...
